By car
Zermatt is car-free. Private traffic is only permitted up to Täsch (5 km before Zermatt), and the road between Täsch and Zermatt is also closed to private transport.
Various car parks (2,900 spaces; 2,100 of them in the Matterhorn Terminal Täsch) and uncovered parking spaces (900 spaces) are available to you in Täsch. Some of the multi-storey car parks also have outside parking spaces, and offer a taxi service to and from Zermatt.
The shuttle trains of the Matterhorn Gotthard Railway run between Täsch and Zermatt every 20 minutes. You can conveniently and directly transfer to the modern shuttle trains in the Matterhorn Terminal Täsch. The train journey ends 12 minutes later at the Bahnhofplatz in Zermatt – at the heart of the Matterhorn village.

Ticket validation machines for the payment of the parking fees are available at various locations 24 hours a day. More information can be obtained at the Parking counters in the Terminal hall, which are open daily from 7.00 a.m. to 7.00 p.m.
Free bus parking and free group baggage transportation
Groups who are travelling to Zermatt with the Matterhorn Gotthard Bahn can park their bus in the P2 Schali free of charge. If you require free baggage transportation, it is necessary to make a telephone pre-reservation at the Täsch railway station before 4.00 p.m. on the day before.

Transferring with baggage
Baggage trolleys (like those at airports) are available In Täsch/ Zermatt that you can conveniently leave at the station in Zermatt/ Täsch afterwards. The deposit is CHF 5.-, and is reimbursed directly at the respective destination.
Group baggage
Your baggage from Täsch to Zermatt and vice-versa can be loaded onto a group baggage wagon and then be easily transported by train to Zermatt or Täsch. The practical baggage wagon can then be transported to your hotel or to the parking area without reloading the baggage – an inertia brake makes the transportation easy and convenient.
